Manufacture of shelves

  1. Assemble perpendicularly 3 elements measuring 13 x 10 x 2 cm (A) with 1 board measuring 96 x 10 x 2 cm (in yellow), that is to say the bottom of the shelf. Screw with 4 x 50 mm screws. (See diagram 1)Manufacture of shelves © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionManufacture of shelves © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica EditionFigure 1 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 1 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition
  2. Assemble 2 other boards measuring 96 x 10 x 2 cm (yellow) on the back of the previous assembly, screwing the first one to the elements A and the second one to the elements A and to the bottom of the shelf. Manufacture of shelves © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionManufacture of shelves © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica EditionTo facilitate assembly, lay the boards blank, then draw the contours of the shelves A and the bottom. Pre-drill. (See diagram 2)

Then assemble the boards measuring 100 x 10 x 2 cm (in red) on the front of the shelves in the same way as for the planks of the back. (See diagram 3) Manufacture of shelves © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionManufacture of shelves © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition Figure 3 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 3 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica EditionUse 4 x 50 mm screws.
  5. Proceed in the same way to make the second shelf vis-à-vis. (See figure 4) Figure 4 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 4 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica EditionClose the holes with wood paste and allow to dry.

Manufacture of the central panel and assembly of the headboard

  1. Place the 11 boards measuring 80 x 10 x 2 cm (in blue) side by side. Position the 3 planks measuring 120 x 7 x 1.5 cm (B) perpendicularly, making them protrude by 5 cm on each side. (See diagram 5)Figure 5 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 5 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition
  2. Hold them together with clamps, then screw them to the boards shown in blue on the drawings using 4 x 4 x 30 mm screws per board.Manufacture of the central panel © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionManufacture of the central panel © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition
  3. Place the 2 shelves on each side of the central part. Screw the parts of the B elements protruding 5 cm to the boards measuring 100 x 10 x 2 cm (in red) with 4 x 30 mm screws. (See diagram 6)Manufacture of the central panel © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionManufacture of the central panel © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica EditionFigure 6 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 6 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition

  5. Place on the top of the shelves the board measuring 150 x 12 x 2.7 cm (C) and screw it on the one hand to the boards shown in blue and red on the diagrams, and on the other hand on the boards shown in yellow. Manufacture of shelves © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionManufacture of the central panel © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica EditionUse 2 x 4 x 40 mm screws per board. (See diagram 7)

finishes

  1. Close the holes with wood paste and allow to dry. To regularize the boards, sand with a 50 grit sandpaper then 120. Then, apply 2 coats of paint. Attention: it is important to fix the headboard to the wall to avoid any risk of accident. To do this, screw 2 T flat brackets with 4 x 30 mm screws on the back of the headboard, on each side, then screw them to the wall using dowels adapted to the material constituting the latter. (See diagram 8)Figure 8 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 8 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition
  2. Tip: If you can not lean your headboard against the wall because of a plinth, place a shim corresponding to the thickness of your plinth between the flat T-square and the headboard. (See diagram 9)Figure 9 © Béatrice d'Asciano - Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets - Rustica EditionFigure 9 © Béatrice d’Asciano – Scandinavian Style Reclaimed Pallets – Rustica Edition
  3. You can install your bed base and mattress safely.
